This time of year is all about the holidays and letting friends and family know how much you care. Don't forget about your turf! Although your turf has prepared for winter and you probably won't be thinking about it until February, give it an early gift of sharp blades. Sharp blades are key for quality turf. Here are a couple reasons you want to keep them sharp.
- Sharp blades limit disease. A dull blade tears or shreds leaf blades, increasing open pores and allowing disease to penetrate the leaf blade.
- A nice cut to your turf just looks better. We've all seen the shaggy affects of a dull blade. On longer grass, a dull blade gives an uneven appearance.
So, while winter is here and you don't need to cut the grass, go sharpen those blades. As always, keep it green!
