This may sound a little wacky, but turf uses nutrients just like our bodies. We’ve all heard the slogan “Milk, it does a body good.” Milk is good for us because of its high calcium content. Calcium = good for the bones. When we workout, we need the high potassium content from a banana to offset cramping.
Turf is very similar in its need for calcium and potassium. Recent studies have shown that increased calcium and potassium levels in turf will reduce heat stress, increase disease resistance and provide a “tougher” plant. These two nutrients, which are found in natural foods such as milk and bananas, are the foundation of our turfgrass solutions.
What we fondly refer to as our milk and bananas approach may sound silly, but it continues to produce quality turf at our properties without harming our environment or your family.
